At Complements Home Interiors, we love meeting with clients to discuss home remodeling in Central Oregon.
However, we’ve gotten quite a few questions lately from clients about how to add a little more “wow” factor to their spaces — and, more specifically, their walls.
Of course, as your favorite interior design company in Bend, we couldn’t leave you hanging. (Pun intended.)
To help answer this question, we’ve created a guide with a few of our favorite ideas. Let’s dive right in.
1. Add a Pop of Color
If you’re looking to add a bit of pizzazz to your walls, look no further than color. Bright or bold hues make an awesome statement, but that’s not the only thing you can do.
There are so many fantastic wallpapers out there these days in pretty prints of all types. Think everything from florals to geometric tiles and even handwritten sayings.
Choosing one that fits the use of the room is usually a good bet, which gives you a little more freedom than sticking with something neutral.
2. Create a Wood Plank Wall
If you love the American farmhouse home decor trend, then you’ll love the idea of creating a wood plank wall.
This concept ranges the gamut from traditional white shiplap to lumber pieces with naturally stained wood.
Worried about longevity and care? Some homeowners are even using vinyl flooring or ceramic tile designed to look like wood for an easy-to-clean alternative. You can even opt for wallpaper that looks like aged wood.
3. Select a Fun Art Piece
The best part about art these days is it is virtually everywhere. Whether you’re browsing Etsy shops or visiting a local boutique, chances are you’ll find a unique piece that will spruce up your space.
And the cool thing about framed art is you can change it out as you feel like it. For example, you can have different pieces depending on holidays, seasons, or just your overall mood.
Can’t find the perfect design? There are tons of freelance graphic designers out there who can help. Don’t be afraid to try something kitschy or unique if it is somewhat personal, like a photo of your pet dressed as a royal or photos of your favorite cafe from a trip to Paris.
You can even opt to pick up supplies at your local craft store and make a one-of-a-kind creation. This is a great idea for families, as the kids can easily get involved in the process.
Hang a Gallery Wall
Gallery walls are a fun way to add style to your walls because they look cohesive, but they can be totally different at the same time.
Choose a few items of varying sizes that have a similar color or shape. These can be framed photos of precious family members, saying quotes, art, or even mirrors.
Hang them together while creating even space between them. This gives that gallery appearance, which is a budget-friendly way to fill up an entire wall with minimal effort.
